About

Julia is a senior at Syracuse University studying illustration. On campus, she founded and served as President of Mythos Magazine, an award winning student magazine that mimics the comic industry. Mythos Magazine connects authors and artists so they can collaborate and bring their stories to life. Julia is also a cartoonist for the Daily Orange, a VPA ambassador, and a Peer Advisor. Her comic strip, “Mytholomentary”, is featured every week in the printed edition of The Daily Orange. Julia was awarded the full $2000 SOURCE Bridge Award to adapt her senior project into a self-published one shot comic to present at New York Comic-Con. This past semester, she was one of twelve seniors selected as a VPA Scholar, the college’s highest undergraduate academic honor.

Off campus, Julia worked as an intern at Roddenberry Entertainment and Five Peaks Animation. She also worked as the art director at Red Pine Camp and as a penciller for “The Cosmic Signature”, a comic written by Monte Young.

Julia grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois where she studied painting under Leigh Janes Studio. As soon as she could pick up a pencil, Julia began drawing. Growing up, Julia loved creating her own stories and illustrating them. When she is not drawing, you can find Julia at her local comic store or promoting her art on her comic account on TikTok.
